You originally draw a design for an art contest on a 4 in. x 5 in. card. The second phase of the contest requires the drawing to be transferred to an 8.5 in x 11 in. standard sheet of paper and utilize as much of the space on the paper as possible. You determine that the largest size one of the dimensions of your drawing can be is 10.5 in. What is the length of the other dimension if the two drawings are similar? Type your exact answer in the blank without the units, and round to the nearest tenths.
@caozeyuan
its past midnight and my brain is not working anymore, so please alllow me 5 mintues to read the question
totally!
if you can help then take as much as needed
just make sure not to fall asleep lol
i need you
ok, so obvious you want to blow up the 5in side, not the 4 in side
becuase if you do it the other way round, 5 in is not gonna become something less than 8.5
which measns the common ratio is 10.5/5=2.1
so the 4 in side is gonna get a 2.1x which is 8.4 in
so answer is 8.4
okay
im trying to understand this but since its 9:23 my brain shut off already
ow, so you must live on the west then, cuz here at boston its 12:25
i live in iceland
jk i live in California lolol

wiat!!!
are you good at english essays etc...
@MadR4t
lmao
so you don't know the units to put it in or you want me to help you with english?
no no no
no need for english
i need help with unit
im guessing the unit will be 8:2
The answer is just, "The length of the other dimension of the unit is 8.4.
It says not to put units and round to the nearest tenth, which since the 4 is in the tenths spot, you don't need to simplify any more
so 8.4 and thats it
yes
okay thanks!!!
