You want to get the y alone correct?

OpenStudy (steve816):

Start out by subtracting 7x to both sides!

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Doing this will isolate the y term on the left. What is that term? Example: suppose you now had 4y = 3x - 2 (I've invented this equation.) To solve for y, divide all 3 terms by 4. Can you finish this? After having done so, please solve your equation (the real, given one) for -5y and then for y alone. Show your work.
