OpenStudy (sumonia):

which sum or difference is equivalent to the following expression

OpenStudy (jango_in_dtown):

Options?

OpenStudy (sumonia):

3x-2over 9

OpenStudy (xxiiblueunionxx):

well 3x= 3 times x so what is x which means you would have to do 2 divided by 9 which will get you x then times x by 3 and there's your answer

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Can you take a pic of the problem or use the draw tool or use the equation editor? What you wrote is unclear. Is it \(3x - \dfrac{2}{9} \) or \(\dfrac{3x - 2}{9} \)

OpenStudy (sumonia):

the second one

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

There is no answer yet because we haven't seen the choices of expressions to choose from.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The way you wrote it originally, it really means the first one. That is why a picture of the problem or using the equation editor avoids wasting time trying to figure out what the problem is.

OpenStudy (xxiiblueunionxx):

well 3x= 3 times x so what is x which means you would have to do 2 divided by 9 which will get you x then times x by 3 and there's your answer .-.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Now do you have choices to choose an equivalent expression from?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@xXiiBlueUnionXx You already wrote twice the same thing, and it made no sense both times.

OpenStudy (xxiiblueunionxx):

Bahumbug

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

@xXiiBlueUnionXx You need to understand what the problem is about. We were given an expression that we have seen already. Now there must be choices given (probably 4 of them) in the problem. We need to see which of the expressions in the choices is equivalent to the given expression. We cannot solve the given expression because it is not an equation. Until we see the choices, we can't do anything.

OpenStudy (xxiiblueunionxx):

Ok

OpenStudy (sumonia):

I just got on here , you don't have to be a doosh about it
