OpenStudy (braydenrgove):

In which type of chemical reaction is heat absorbed from the surroundings?

OpenStudy (brittanyrolfe):

A chemical reaction can either absorb heat for a reaction or release it. This can also be seen with energy as well. Sometimes, if now captures by an energy carrier energy can be released in the form of heat. But there are two types of heat releasing reactions, ENDOthermic and EXOthermic. ENDO- means to taking in, while EXO- means to release. Given that, if you are trying to find the name of a chemical reaction that absorbs heat from its surrounding– then it will be an ENDOthermic reaction because heat is being absorbed by the reaction.
