OpenStudy (ana_98):

Someone help with this math equation?? :)) http://prntscr.com/d655d4

OpenStudy (ana_98):

@jhonyy9

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

jhonyy9 hence is correct

OpenStudy (ana_98):

number 9 is coorect? lol :))

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so than you know that before (fog)(x) = f(g(x)) now how you think that will be (gof)(x) = ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

(gof)(x) = g(f(x)) = ?

OpenStudy (ana_98):

well it says what is the value of (g o f)(4)?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

f(x) = 4x-7 g(x) = x+3 g(f(x)) = (f(x)) +3 = ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so first you need to know what will be g(f(x)) = ?

OpenStudy (ana_98):

i have no clue sorry

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

or you can solve it in 2 ways second way is what you wrote first get f(4) = ? and than just calculi g(f(4)) = ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

do you understand me ?

OpenStudy (bonnieisflash1.0):

@ana_98 your from peeranswer

OpenStudy (ana_98):

yes?? how'd you find me here??

OpenStudy (ana_98):

no i dont get it at all

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

can you get f(4) = ?

OpenStudy (bonnieisflash1.0):

well i made a account which is bonnieisflash and i made a account on here to

OpenStudy (bonnieisflash1.0):

bonnieisflash was on peeranswer

OpenStudy (ana_98):

f(4)= 4? idk grrrrr

OpenStudy (ana_98):

wth is happening to my brain

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

f(x) = 4x-7 so f(4) = 4*4 -7 = ?

OpenStudy (amorfide):

f(x)=4x-7 f(4)=4(4)-7=9 (g o f)(4)=g(f(4))=g(9) g(x)=x+3 g(9)=9+3=12

OpenStudy (triciaal):

agree with 12

OpenStudy (ana_98):

thank you @jhonyy9

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

yw. but ana do you understand the way how you can solving same exercises ?

OpenStudy (ana_98):

i dont understand your speech

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

@amorfide please dont give dirrectly answers - try collaborate step by step with asker to tech the way how can solving the posted question thank you

OpenStudy (amorfide):

f(x)=ax+b f(c)=a(c)+b f(3)=a(3)+b hence, you just substitute the variable, to be that number. (g o f)(x)=g(f(x)) (f o g)(x)=f(g(x)) hence, you always work from the right, and make your way to the left, meaning you do the first function of x first, then the second function of that answer so (g o f)(4)=g(f(4)) if that makes sense to you

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

to teach the way - sorry do you agree it @mathmate ?

OpenStudy (amorfide):

I gave step by step and an answer, I didn't give a direct answer, but I will in future let them do the answer, and just give the steps, sorry

OpenStudy (ana_98):

makes sense @amorfide thanks so much :))

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ok. thank you

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

ana do you have again questions ?

OpenStudy (ana_98):

yes @jhonyy9 i do

OpenStudy (ana_98):

http://prntscr.com/d65dv1

OpenStudy (ana_98):

idk if that one went through alright so here it is again http://prntscr.com/d65egs

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

please repost it on the open question column do you know what mean f^-1(x) ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

this is the inverse of f(x)

OpenStudy (ana_98):

ok
