So do you know what substitution means?

@retirEEdWell I assumed that substitution wold be moving 6y to the the other side so it'd be x=6y+2 and then simply plugging it in to 5x+4y=36 like 5(6y+2)+4y=36 but I couldn't get the correct answer by doing this. Btw I do have the correct answer (In the answer key) but I'd like to know how to answer question like this.

Ah I think I was doing 5(6y+2)+4y=36 instead of 5(-6y+2)+4y=36
