OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

I know this isn't math but does anyone have any ideas on how to make a project interesting and fun?

OpenStudy (torvela):

Yea

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

I'm trying to not bore my viewers

OpenStudy (torvela):

what project

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

any project lol just in general

OpenStudy (torvela):

ok what subject

OpenStudy (torvela):

and grade

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

why is that important?

OpenStudy (torvela):

grade because different ages have different interests and subject so i can think of an example

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

oh I'm going to be presenting at a college level class

OpenStudy (torvela):

ok i agree with steve but one other thing i think of is adding a little incentive to finishing that lesson or project...

OpenStudy (torvela):

also..

OpenStudy (torvela):

if say language arts do something where they can use like their favorite tv show or something

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

incentive as in?

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

mhhmmm good idea

OpenStudy (torvela):

well I'm an 8th grader so my idea of incentive would be like homework pass, candy, getting to listen to music in class, or like a fun hat day

OpenStudy (torvela):

I mean i always liked partner projects with my friends

OpenStudy (torvela):

One other thing I remember is hands on projects were always fun

OpenStudy (torvela):

for example, when I learned how to multiply in 3rd grade using the cubes made it fun

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

is a presentation that's the thing

OpenStudy (seratul):

When you get older, people don't really care about the project itself, but the presentation. Try to not bore your listeners, but say things that are funny or maybe corny.

OpenStudy (giselleykara):

You make it interesting by stating a lot of quotes to back up your facts and making sure to cite each person. The more information you have and depth of understanding then you will get more points showing more effort you put in. Be fun with it for instance using pictures in powerpoint and not having a bunch of words on the slide... so make flashcards for little points to remember while presenting. the more you look at the students and professor the more engaged they are. when presenting start off with a grabber then a concluding yet interesting question to the class that leaves them thinking. Have fun and be comfortable if you are not feeling it no one else will

OpenStudy (torvela):

well this is a personal preference but I prefer when lesson are brief and get straight to the point and only give straight facts

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

thank you guys! :)

OpenStudy (giselleykara):

yes because you are in 8th grade and you can do that. in college you have a rubric of items you have to adress and will get points off for each missing

OpenStudy (torvela):

i have a question are you the teacher? or are you presenting something as a student

OpenStudy (torvela):

cause i thought you were the teacher

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

lol no I'm a student

OpenStudy (torvela):

oh xD lol

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

but I'm advanced so I get college classes

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

no if I were the teacher I would just buy pastries or something and make a trivia

OpenStudy (torvela):

yea what i usually do is i add pictures and music to my presentation that relate to the slide its on

OpenStudy (torvela):

lol xD

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

yeah lol donuts always encourage but I'm broke xD

OpenStudy (torvela):

I can't believe this whole time i thought you were a teacher presenting the lesson to a class

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

nah lol xD I didn't know I was giving that vibe

OpenStudy (torvela):

no i just misread and since u have a high points and the human calculator thing

OpenStudy (torvela):

so is this project going to be online or physical? cause if its physical i have an idea

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

physical but I already have some ideas :)

OpenStudy (torvela):

ok

OpenStudy (torvela):

just out of curiosity whats the project? :D

OpenStudy (torvela):

if u don't mind me asking

OpenStudy (torvela):

Sorry I couldn't help more :/ but if you make a slide then putting pictures and sounds based on what that slide is about usually gets a good grade cause it looks like it took a lot of effort when it took little to none
