The data set below shows the number of books checked out from a library during the first two weeks of the month: 10, 89, 80, 95, 85, 92, 90, 9, 99, 97, 96, 92, 91, 88
Which of the following statements is true based on the data set? There is one outlier, indicating very few books were rented out on that day. There are two outliers, indicating very few books were rented out on those two days. There are two outliers, indicating an abnormally large number of books were rented out on those two days. There is one outlier, indicating an abnormally large number of books were rented out on that day.
`Outlier` is the number that stands out from the rest of the set. If it is less than the usual numbers it would mean less books rented, if it is more than it would be a large amount of books rented.
ok...I think I understand @563blackghost.....would it be B or C? because I see 2 outliers
That is correct there are two outliers. Now since it is 9 and 10 and the usual numbers range from `80 - 99` are `9 and 10` less or greater than the usual numbers?
they are less obviously
So they represent less books rented out on the those two days.
So B.
