OpenStudy (shakeria98):

Which shows the graph of the solution set of 2x + y < 4?

OpenStudy (cp123):

put into slope intercept form: so, subtract the 2x from the right side and put it into the left side. y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y intercept. this makes it y<-2x+4.

OpenStudy (cp123):

the sign is less than, not less than or equal to, making the line dotted and not solid. also since it is less than, the shaded area will be BELOW the line.

OpenStudy (cp123):

oh wait did you forget the less than or equal to because none of them have the dotted line

OpenStudy (cp123):

your y intercept will be 4, so you can eliminate those with the y intercept of 2.

OpenStudy (shakeria98):

i think its c am i correct?

OpenStudy (cp123):

if you aren't sure whether you are correct, it is always helpful to plug in the points 0,0. so, since 0<4, that would make c the correct answer.

OpenStudy (shakeria98):

Thank you , you really helped me to understand it better!

OpenStudy (cp123):

youre welcome :)
