OpenStudy (sooobored):

5. looks fine 6. looks fine 7. seems wrong

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'd be glad to check your work if you'd first share it: I need to see how you arrived at your answers.

OpenStudy (sooobored):

8. got a different answer 9. unsure what is being asked here 10.seems fine

OpenStudy (tifferslovesyaoi):

1. I took 40,000 x .06 then I added 40,000 and got 42,400 2. I didn't fully understand the question and thought $40.66 was the most logical answer 3. I subtracted the deduction the I subtracted 3,050 3 times 4. I multiplied (should I have added after? I'm really confused.) 5/ I also multiplied on this one 6. Multiplied then added 7. Divided 8. I didn't fully understand this one so I multiplied but all I got was 7.3125 so I chose the one closest to it. 9 & 10 I used this online calculator for home taxes and it showed these two answers since I couldn't figure it out.

2. the total price is given, this means the marked price + the tax. If you know the tax rate, this means you can determine the marked price "x" since x+0.07x = 40.66

OpenStudy (sooobored):

7. sales tax is determined by taking the marked price "x" and multiplying by the tax rate (6% or 0.06) since the sales tax is given as 6.80 in order to get this tax, you multiply x by the tax rate the equation looks something like this x*0.06=6.80 and solve for x which is the marked price

OpenStudy (sooobored):

8. a bit similar to #2 It says that the selling price is 97.50. This means that this price includes both the marked price and the sales tax (7.5% or 0.075) it also means that we are capable of determining the marked price which will help in solving the problem like #2 so we can determine marked price "x" by using the equation and solving for x x+0.075x=97.50 however, what we want is just the total of the sales tax which is 0.075x

OpenStudy (sooobored):

any questions?

OpenStudy (tifferslovesyaoi):

I am so confused

OpenStudy (sooobored):

OpenStudy (tifferslovesyaoi):
