OpenStudy (braden01):

What point of view is used in "Was It a Dream?" How would a different point of view change your understanding of the character? In one to two paragraphs, explain your answer.

OpenStudy (bear17bear):

"Was it a Dream" is in first person and the fact that its in the point of view allows the story to be more emotional and lets the reader see how the narrator is actually feeling. If it was in third person we wouldn't be able to see the true emotion of the main character. I think that a different point of view was used, such as third person point of view, the story would focus on the feelings and characteristics of more than one character and how those characters interact with each other. Third person point of view uses the pronouns he, her, or them. That indicates that the narrator is focusing on several characters, not just one. Did this help you out?
