OpenStudy (jcat502):

At the amusement park, you decide to ride the Ferris wheel, which has a maximum height of 50 meters and a diameter of 35 meters. It takes the wheel five minutes to make one revolution. If you start your ride at the midline and the ferris wheel rotates counter clockwise, how many seconds will it take for your seat to reach a height of 50 meters? Round the answer to the nearest second.

OpenStudy (smartperson):

what do you mean by mid line

OpenStudy (mhchen):

He means at the middle of the circle.

OpenStudy (mhchen):

-So it takes 5 minutes to make 1 revolution. -1 revolution = circumference <-- You can calculate this given the diameter -Since it rotates clockwise, it will be a 270 degree rotation. 1. Calculate the period in minutes/meters, which is 5min./?m. 2. Multiply it by 3/4, since 270 degrees is 3/4 of 360 degrees, which is a full circle.

OpenStudy (smartperson):

lol im sorry i thought it was something completely different i hope you can find help but i dont know this
