OpenStudy (gibm1008):

What happens in the proliferation stage of wound healing?

OpenStudy (brittanyrolfe):

The proliferation stage is when the wound begins to heal itself by building healthy new skin over the exposed skin. Blood vessels will generally be the ones guiding the skin through this process. The body provides the blood vessels with nutrition and oxygen. The blood vessel then repair the site with a mixture of extracellular matrix and collagen. This essentially allows for new blood vessels to replace the old ones.
