We are indicated that two sides are equal. Due to this two angles are congruent as well since it is an isosceles triangle. \(\huge\bf{ \angle A = \angle B}\) Substitute. \(\huge\bf{34=x-5}\) Simplify to find x.

OpenStudy (princeevee):

were finding Y...

OpenStudy (will.h):

X - 5 = 34 (isosceles triangle) X = 39 Now Sum of triangle theorem 34 + 34 + 4y = 180 4y = 112 Y = 28

OpenStudy (poto):

Cool I did this before! :)

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Will's got it ^.^

OpenStudy (will.h):

:) Thanks ghosty

563blackghost (563blackghost):

your welcome will ;)

OpenStudy (princeevee):

is it okay if i can post more of my questions on this thread?

@Will.H

OpenStudy (will.h):

Isosceles triangle 2x + 7 = 4x - 7 Solve for X and find the values of the sides 14 = 2x 7 = x Therefore we now can find length of BC by substituting x = 7 BC = 4x BC = 4(7) BC = 28

OpenStudy (princeevee):

thanks,

OpenStudy (will.h):

You welcome
