OK, the name Committee on Public Information is a piece of propaganda. News organizations can give you information. This was designed for the government to give you the information they want you to have. So it is a propaganda arm of the government. Free societies need the support of the people to fight wars. So this committee was designed to keep the people feeling that it was their duty to support the war.
