OpenStudy (teopisteo):

Hey there :) I have been revising some molecular biology stuff. So, I've got 2 questions that are not connected to each other. As one makes a transformation of eukaryotic cells, which selectable markers are used? As antibiotics are not an option, and I suppose blue-white selection as well, what is used? Amino acids? And the second one is about the homologous recombination. How is it actually triggered? I can't imagine that the cell does replace its own DNA with a random DNA only because it has some homologous regions :)

OpenStudy (cielindead):

For awnser two in the cell there is a special cell part that makes DNA
