a+b
hints: 1. A diagonal of a rectangle is the line joining two non-adjacent vertices. 2. distance between two points, P1(x1,y1), P2(x2,y2) \(D=\sqrt{(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2}\) Substitute in the coordinates to get the answer.
Is it a^2??? @mathmate
Yea that is what he said
Oh okay

ur wel
@Gokuporter @justin234 Wait, the question needs a diagonal, so a^2 is not the answer. you need to substitute the coordinates of two points of the figure, say P and R, which are not adjacent to each other. The coordinates of P(x1,y1)=(0,b) R(x2,y2)=(a,0) Substitute x1,y1,x2,y2 into the equation I posted earlier to get the answer. and give the answer in terms of a and b.
really?
