KjSaif (kjsaif):

What would be the direct variation equation for this question? :)

KjSaif (kjsaif):

The cost that a carpet cleaning company charges is directly proportional to the number of rooms cleaned. The cost is $22 for each room.

KjSaif (kjsaif):

It said to write the direct variation to represent the cost.

OpenStudy (leenathan):

i think your write

KjSaif (kjsaif):

I never answered a thing......

OpenStudy (leenathan):

XD thats the point

KjSaif (kjsaif):

@zepdrix @steve816 @mhchen

KjSaif (kjsaif):

@inkyvoyd

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

In general, direct variation between \(y\) and \(x\) is modeled as \(y=kx\) where \(k\) is some (fixed) constant..

KjSaif (kjsaif):

ok

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So, if each room is \(22\) dollars, than the cost for \(x\) rooms, \(y\), is \(22\times x\) (or \(22x\)).

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So, if you were to set an equation for \(y\) (the cost of cleaning \(x\) rooms) ...

KjSaif (kjsaif):

Thank you! @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Ywes, bt

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

oh:) just yw:)

KjSaif (kjsaif):
