Transformation of Variances/Standard Deviations:

Suppose Var(x) = 4 of some random distribution
How would it change if we:
1. Multiplied the distribution by constant
2. Add the distribution by a constant

Same 2 questions for Standard Deviations.

I'm guessing adding it does nothing, and multiplying it by a constant multiplies the variance by the square of the constant.
