2. What prompted the establishment of the Articles of Confederation? (1 point) States needed to be sure that they maintained control over their land. Colonies wanted to show Britain that they were an organized union. Delegates thought that the colonies needed to be united. Leaders wanted to make sure that all states had the same constitution.
