To find the inverse:

Replace f(x) with y
Switch x's and y's, so put x where y is and y where x was.
Solve for y
Replace y with f^-1(x)

So we have y =4x-2

switch positions of y and x

x=4y-2

solve for y, that will give you your inverse.
