Solution Set of Linear Equation

You need to figure out what operation takes place between any two of these vectors. Is it addition? multiplication? How do you know? Once you've figured this out, the rest will be straightforward.
V1 + V2 = Z. I realized this when adding the terms horizontally, and noticed that the other two rows added up.
That's real progress. Congrats! Try actually adding the first two vectors together, and comparing your results with the content of the 3rd vector.
@mathmale I'm not the OP, but adding row 1 v1 and row 1 v2 gives row 1 z 2 + -3 = k
\[\left(\begin{matrix}2 \\ 1\\-1\end{matrix}\right) +\left(\begin{matrix}-3\\ 0\\2\end{matrix}\right)\]
this way?
@mathmale
by "generated" they mean you multiply v1 by some number (call it "a") and v2 by "b" and then add: a * v1 + b * v2 = z there is a way to find a and b, but in this problem, you could guess a=1 and b=0 (which is allowed) in other words v1 = z and that will work if you set k to what number ?
@phi plz explain further ?
k= 2 ?
also can you give me best website to practice similar questions ?
@phi
yes, k=2 notice that makes z and v1 identical
can you give more examples or website with similar practice questions
