OpenStudy (3mar):

https://www.mathsisfun.com/geometry/parallelogram.html Take a look at that site. It is cool and interesting! I think this would help you.

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

okay do u know what the angles in a quadlilateral add upto

OpenStudy (chatnoir):

For this question, you need to know that the quadrilateral angles equal 360 degrees. So do 360=3x+3x+x+x

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

|dw:1479613497005:dw|

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

sigh :(

OpenStudy (otherworldly):

Keep trying out numbers so for example if i said x=50 then that means 3x+3x+ x+x = 150 + 150+ 50+ 50 which equals 400 5 cannot equal x because it doe snot add up to 360. Now that you know that x= 50 equals 400 pick x= less than 50 it will help you out in figuring out the answer good luck im sure there is an easier way but this is how i do it.

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

ok i chose 180 as my answer

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

sorry no i chose 45 @otherworldly

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

@Hayhayz

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

i got another 360 degree question too lol

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

hi ill help you if u want to learn

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

sure

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

k before we move on, did u know that a triangle has 180 degrees in it

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

yes

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

oaky you can use this to always figure out how much the angles add upto in some polygon sha[e

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

shape

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

for exmaple in this case

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

|dw:1479614331054:dw|

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

oh ok

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

so for my original question above i got 45 as my answer was that correct

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

k lets see 3x+3x+x+x= how many x is that in total

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

4

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

no

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

and 45 x 4=180

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

ok 2 x's

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

try again 3x+3x=?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

remember what 3*X means that means x+x+x its x added 3 times

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

ummm it equals 9

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

nope

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

3 apples + 3 apples =?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

how many apples do we have

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

6

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

righ dont forget the units its important 6 apples

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

that is basically the same question as this 3x+3x is saying we have 3 of x + 3 of x

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

like 3 of apples + 3 of apples

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

so all together we have 6 x's

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

right now back to our first ques

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

3x+3x+x+x=?

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

umm 6

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

look again

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

3 apples + 3 apples + 1 apples + 1 apples =?

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

8

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

hello?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

yes

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

so 3x+3x+1x+1x=?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

so 3x+3x+1x+1x= 8x we know angles add up to 360 3x+3x+1x+1x=8x=360 8x=360 solve for x divide both sides by 8 8x/8=360/8 x=360/8

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

ok so x =45

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

yes

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

so i was correct!

OpenStudy (heart_offire):

now next question
