OpenStudy (♥ashley♥):

What is the area of a rectangle with vertices at (−6, 3) , (−3, 6) ,(1, 2) , and (−2, −1) ? Do not round any side lengths. I think its 24.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Ashley, would you please sketch the 4 vertices and then construct the rectangle. This visual aid would help you greatly in figuring out the area of this rectangle.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Find the length and the width of the rectangle. Then what?

OpenStudy (styxer):

You can calculate the distance between two points using d² = (x2-x1)² + (y2-y1)² , find the base and height of the rectangle, then use the formula to find it's area
