In general, suppose you have a function, \(y=f(x)\). 1. \(y=f(x)+k\) translates the original function \(k\) units UP. 2. \(y=f(x)-k\) translates the original function \(k\) units DOWN. 3. \(y=f(x-k)\) translates the original function \(k\) units to the RIGHT. 4. \(y=f(x+k)\) translates the original function \(k\) units to the LEFT.
