Please read over my research paper.. Give me a grade and comments. Also looking for illustration ideas

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Topic: Fast food, processed foods and obesity: about the toxicity and how this increased the obesity rate in the last year(s)

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

What would be a good title??

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

When is it due?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Tomorrow

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

What academic level?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

College 1st/ 2nd year

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Its for a biological issues course

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

"Humans are led to believe that processed and fast foods are beneficial for the body" Do you have proof of that?

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

As a general consumer of a wide variety of foods, I don't think I've ever seen fast food or processed food advertised as inherently healthy or "beneficial." The general population is aware of the unhealthy nature of these foods, and such a move in their marketing campaigns, I think, would prove negative.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Not that I can remember.. I wrote that sentence about 2 weeks ago.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Well, I think it is dangerous to make a claim that you cannot prove(or have not proved). Not only is that bad in a research paper, but it is an insult to the companies that you are indirectly referring to.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Also, what is your thesis?

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

My very bad thesis is this: Humans are led to believe that processed and fast foods are beneficial for the body, when in fact, they are only harmful and toxic to an individual’s body, and, the need to reveal this and the beneficial impact of healthy organic foods are imperative.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Im absolutely horrible at writing thesis statements

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

This, "Humans are led to believe that processed and fast foods are beneficial for the body" To large of a claim that can't be proved. Perhaps go into how the general population knows of the risks, but not the gravity of said risks. Like people know McDonald's is bad for them( I just read an article on Yahoo where the writer mentioned his how dislike of the food, but, the convenience, as you say. Link: https://www.yahoo.com/news/m/492a5c71-55c8-38b4-ad9d-8cf52547b174/ss_mcdonald%26%2339%3Bs-made-a-huge.html)

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

People know there are risks, but not how bad these risks are. Obesity -> Death. Fill in the blanks of heart disease and other negative results of obesity.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

If you already have, good, if not, I'd suggest so. I have to get to my next class, till next time

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Umm okay.. Ill start changing it

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

While convenient and inexpensive, fast foods and processed foods are unhealthy for consumption and should be limited in marketing to the human population because they are harmful and toxic to an individual’s body by causing illnesses like obesity, the need to reveal this and the beneficial impact of healthy organic foods is imperative.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

What do you mean by "limited in marketing"

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

limiting how much of it is available to sell

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

But it's a business? They are meant to sell as much as they can, to as many people as possible.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

What you are proposing, is for businesses, to not be businesses. That's like Walmart not selling a man shoes, to save one cow or wherever the leather came from.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Would if an impoverished and starving family rolls up to McDonalds, and is denied food due to this "limitation." Such a proposition has easily evocative negatives. The focus should not be hindering the business with limitations, or impeding individuals from obtaining this food, but educating them.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

"While convenient and inexpensive, fast foods and processed foods are unhealthy for consumption and should be limited in marketing to the human population because they are harmful and toxic to an individual’s body by causing illnesses like obesity, the need to reveal this and the beneficial impact of healthy organic foods is imperative. " Whilst fast foods and processed foods are both convenient and cheap, they are inherently unhealthy for human consumption, and whilst this is known by the general population, they do not know of the gravity of the risks that they take with every bite into a BigMac bringing them one step closer to obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, bone and joint disease, and more negatives that exhibit the need to further inform the public of not only this, but the beneficial impact of healthy organic foods.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

A little larger, but just some thoughts on an edited thesis. Criticize it where you wish, and use what you wish.

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Okay. Thank you.. I'll edit it some more

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Site I used in my little research, just in case you might find it useful https://stanfordhealthcare.org/medical-conditions/healthy-living/obesity.html

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I can finish reading your paper later today and provide more criticisms, but for now I have to finish some things. Good luck, until then!

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Alright. Thank you!

OpenStudy (destinyyyy):

Are you still reading it?? @ShadowLegendX

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

I'm sorry, I got immensely occupied.
