I'm guessing wildly here .... I've heard of the two animals doing this and also "more haste, less speed". It isn't one of Greek Aesop's fables is it ?

the tortoise says I am slow, but live a long time, and carry my house around with me.
the hare says I am quick, but live a short time, and need shelter when it rains. 
who wins the contest ... ?
Wasn't it a dead heat in the story ?
