OpenStudy (rachel.frank40):

Well if the ordered pairs that you have are (-4, -1) and (0, 2) and you are asked what is the value of the function when x=-4 you just have to look at the y value for the ordered pair when x=-4.

OpenStudy (zoey):

I'm sorry im having ahorrible time with this

OpenStudy (rachel.frank40):

You understand the ordered pairs (-4,-1) [that represents (x,y) values]?

OpenStudy (zoey):

so y would = -1?

OpenStudy (rachel.frank40):

yep. if you have an ordered pair and are asked what the value of the function is, all it is asking you is what the y value is at a specific x value

OpenStudy (zoey):

okay thank you soo much i was making it hard lol
