After 2006, General Motors stopped making the Hummer H1 vehicle. The H1 was based on the U.S. military's Humvee vehicle. The problem for the H1 is that it's so big it only gets about 10 miles per gallon of gas. With the price of gas, that's expensive. So was the price of an H1 - about $140,000. In 2005, GM sold only 374 H1s, down from 447 in 2004.
If the Hummer H1 gets 10 miles per gallon of gas, how many miles can it go on 23 gallons?
How many more Hummer H1s did GM sell in 2004 than in 2005?

To begin, multiply 10 and 23. What number do you get?
OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):
230
whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):
That's correct.
So now, for your second question, please tell me how many did they sold in 2004.

447
whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):
That's right, and how many did they sell in 2005?
whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):
@TylerMckinney16
OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):
374
whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):
That's right, so all you have to do is subtract 374 from 447. What number do you get?

73
whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):
That's right. So they sold 73 more H1s in 2004 than they did in 2005.
whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):
Does all of this make sense? @TylerMckinney16
OpenStudy (tylermckinney16):
yep
