A strange occurrence...
So, I (@Whitemonsterbunny17) went over to the LaTeX Practicing section, as I was gonna test out some new codes. I recall closing the last question I had opened, yet when I got there, for some odd reason, one of my old questions from about a year ago had been re-opened (see screenshot below):
After that, I was going to attempt to post a question here in OpenStudy Feedback about the strange occurrence. I was allowed to type a question, but when I clicked "Post", nothing happened. I decided to refresh the page, and wallah, one of my old questions had been 're-opened' (see screenshot below):
I tried logging in onto a different browser, but I got the same result. Does anyone know what's going on, and/or is anyone else having the same issue?
I'm gonna try to bump one of those 're-opened' questions...
It worked... Hm.
Okay, refreshing...
I'm able to post questions after I have closed the 're-opened' questions, but I would still like to know why my old questions got re-opened in the first place. The question I screenshotted from LaTeX was from a year ago, and I have since opened and closed many questions, so why would it choose to re-open a question from a year ago?
@Kainui
Fun stuff, enjoy. Tell me if you figure out how to reopen closed stuff that sounds pretty useful.
This was due to them trying to fix a mistake they made. Remember when they accidentally deleted all posts from a few days ago to six months ago? This resulted in your surviving closed question of each section to be reopened. They did recover most of the accidentally deleted questions, but haven't reclosed the reopened questions.
here's a screenshot of when it happened, it's from jay's thread about the deleted questions situation maybe a week ago.
I'm on the app, so I can't link you to the exact post atm ^_^" sorry
I'm gonna find it and put the link up. I meant to do that last night but I ended up falling asleep haha...

Welcome to OpenDating.com ! :D
For what reason did they delete the aforementioned questions?
@EclipsedStar, do you know anything of this matter?
I'm really not sure...but my guess is that if you had an open question and a closed one got reopened, your newer post would have disappeared for some reason. I was puzzled too when a user approached me inquiring why his open post had gone *poof* and an older one replaced it.
I never got this glitch of reopened posts, but then again I didn't have any open posts on any subject to begin with, so is it a possibility that having an open post was a factor...?
As for the deletions, I have no idea as to why they did so...I've had poor communication for a while now >_<
No, I for sure didn't have any open questions here in Feedback. It allowed me to type out a question, but the 'Post' button didn't work. I refreshed to try again, to find that an old question was somehow re-opened.
Oh, so you closed your LaTeX post a while ago? :o
Yeah, I've opened newer ones and closed them since as well. I have no idea why it chose to re-open one from a year ago instead of re-opening one of my more recend closed questions from there. xD
recent*
How odd X'D I don't know what to do about this peculiar case :c But maybe, just maybe, it's because your LaTeX is awesome with rainbows ;3
it reopened your top post after the mentioned sic month period I think someone linked to the mentioned post about the mass deletion and the whole explanation to things being reopened. As for why, 5ever replied to me on yam- you can read it there.
I love how i didnt even have to say something for once
There is one thing I've noticed is that on my LaTeX post: ' http://openstudy.com/users/.sam.#/updates/4face2cfe4b059b524f87337 ' \(\color{red}{somehow}\) travelled back in time, the one we're seeing right now is the old version of my post. Some of the latest comments were deleted and I remembered I've made changes to the title about 2 months ago. Comments around 3 to 4 months ago were gone in this post as well: ' http://openstudy.com/users/.sam.#/updates/55b07d32e4b04559507a74cd ' ~Barry Allen please~
this happen to me but 1 day i got 1 and it was fixed ._.
Aww i thought this post was gonna be about A Strange Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge haha :(
