Help Find the maximum amount that should be spent for monthly rent if a person makes $10.50 per hour.

OpenStudy (lemontoki):

Is there more to the question? Because the answer could depend on multiple things. How many hours a day, days a week, ect. ect.

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

nope thats it :(

OpenStudy (phi):

First, you need to figure out how much you make in one month. Roughly (assuming you work 40 hours per week), it would be 10.50*40 per week, and (about) 4 weeks per month: 10.50*40*4 that is how much you "gross" I think there is a "rule of thumb" to not spend more than 30% (check this, you may have been taught a different number) But, if it's 30%, the amount to spend on rent would be 0.30*10.50*40*4

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

$504.00

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

@phi ?

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, but you should check your lesson because I'm guessing on the 30% but if you don't know, then 504 is a good guess.

OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):

okay
