Can't find my mistake... \[a_n = 48 + (n-1)(-2)\] \[a_n = 48 + (-2n+2)\] \[a_n = 50 - 2n\]

OpenStudy (sshayer):

it is correct. what is the option?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

It is asking the `recursive` formula, but you have worked the explicit formula

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Since the common difference is -2, the same sequene using a recursive formula can be expressed as \[\large a_n = a_{n-1}-2\]

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

That simply says to get the next term, subtract 2 from the previous term.

OpenStudy (kamibug):

Thank you!

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):
