Exponents can be best expressed with "^".  For example, 7 cubed might be y^3.

Rather than complain that I said your question makes no sense, why not make your question make sense?  Something is missing.

In particular, you have said both:
f(n) = 8(1.05)n
f(n)= 7.005

It can't be both.  Thus, the question cannot be answered as it has been presented.  Give it another go.
