OpenStudy (jordans_openstudy):

If AB is parallel to CD and the slope of AB is -3, what is the slope of CD? A. -one third B. -3 C. one third D. 3

OpenStudy (kate_kat):

for a line to be parallel it has to have the same slope but a different intercept

OpenStudy (kate_kat):

so what do you think the answer is?

OpenStudy (jordans_openstudy):

ohh wait wouldnt it be 3?

OpenStudy (kate_kat):

you said the slope of AB is -3

OpenStudy (jordans_openstudy):

I copied it from my course. I am rusty with this so kinda confused

OpenStudy (kate_kat):

ok, if a line has to have the same slope to be parallel and AB is - 3 thats means CD would have to be -3, lol im doing the same stuff in my math class and it can get confussing

OpenStudy (jordans_openstudy):

ahhh i see now ! I havent done this stuff in years so i was like ehh haha

OpenStudy (jordans_openstudy):

Thanks !

OpenStudy (kate_kat):
