Customers of a phone company can choose between two service plans for long distance calls. The first plan has no monthly fee but charges $0.11 for each minute of calls. The second plan has a $23 monthly fee and charges an additional $0.07 for each minute of calls. For how many minutes of calls will the costs of the two plans be equal?

@Will.H

OpenStudy (revlogic):

m(0.11) = 23 + m(0.07) Now solve for m

OpenStudy (will.h):

The 1st plan is Y = 0.11x The 2nd is Y = 0.07x + 23 X expresses the time in minutes Now you need to use substitution method and find value of x 0.07x + 23 = 0.11x 23 = 0.04x 575 = x Thus would be 575

Thanks!
