OpenStudy (brittanyrolfe):

Why is the intensity of light not a factor that affects the percentage of light that is transmitted through a colored solution?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Because the light could be intense, but if the solution is the same color as that light, the light won't transmit very well, even if the wavelength/intensity is very high. This is as simple as i could get it, let me know if you'd like me to elaborate!

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

It is simply because it is a percentage and absorption is itself proportional to the intensity of light.
