OpenStudy (kaylaaaaa):

What has more momentum, an 8.5 Kg ball rolling east at 5 m/s or a 6.0 Kg ball rolling west at 6.1 m/s?

OpenStudy (hannansm):

Hi. If we only consider the magnitude, we get that the 8.5kg ball's momentum is 42.5 kg.m/s and the momentum of the 6.0 kg ball is 36.6 kg.m/s. So, the 8.5 kg ball has more momentum. You get momentum by multiply the mass (in kg) of an object to its speed (in m/s).
