opps i was talking to my new friend

OpenStudy (osprey):

Of the choices on offer in the list, I'd go for the second one. I don't specially like what's on offer, for various reasons, but I think i recognise the first one as being a reference to the "plum pudding" model - the particles in the atom all being mixed together as in a pudding - of the atom. That got rejected. The atom (arguably the universe, in fact) is mostly empty space as far as "we" know, but whether that's down to JJ is another matter. From the plum pud model, the electrons got "chucked out" so to speak into "orbits" round the nucleus, as you can sometimes maybe see in the many diagrams in physics/chemistry books. Whether that was JJ I'm nor convinced that it was. I think that JJ had something to do with the idea of the "charge to mass ratio" of an ion, as a way of "sort of 'weighing'" the atoms. So, I'd go for second one down. http://perendis.webs.com
