I don't understand why this site is being shutdown when brainly told us that it would stay alive for a while. That they didn't have a plan on it ting it down. I also don't understand why users week promoted when the site was going to be shutdown. I'd like answers because I've been using this site for 6 years and I'm going to miss it. And the fact that the community was lied to is not ok.

Closing OS was Brainly's plan all along. Everything they've done up to this point has been hocus pocus designed to make the transition less painful. Let's face it, "Powered By Brainly" really meant "BRAINLY TAKEOVER". I will NOT be joining Brainly and neither should any of you. They fooled all of us.

@pooja195 At the time of the announcement this summer that Brainly and OpenStudy were coming together, it was stated at that time that nothing was changing for the moment, but after further consideration in the past months, the team came to this decision about the future of OpenStudy.

As there are still a full two months left on OS, recently promoted Ambis will still have time to be an Ambi, complete their full training, and get credit for this professional experience, if they are interested, which is why their promotions proceeded. I've also shared a post with Mods and Ambis on Yammer explaining some more details and some suggestions for how you can get credit for your experience on OS.

O.m.f..g...I just died inside reading this..this is like buring something speical you had..Good thing im no longer a homeschooler but it was great to have many people on here explaining things to me so i could understand..Brainly isn't like that, to tell the truth I would use it, but people on their don't explain very good..as i know "thomasmaster" says's "trusthworthy" answers, and half them are always wrong.

No company makes an acquisition of a competitor without a plan. I think everyone wants to stay level headed but "after further consideration" is a joke. I understand business is business and you wanted an as smooth transition as possible to acquire what you bought OS for, the community, to the highest percentage as possible. Unfortunately the way your team has conducted yourself has touched the community in a rather negative way, as you either know or are coming to know.

As for users making it to Brainly, all your platform will receive is the people who came to OS for answers, and only answers. You have some of the best of the community like @Hero who was the user in Preetha Ram's Ted talk, who clearly don't have any intentions of going. I don't think any others in the community will transition to become members of Brainly either, as there are some better alternatives. I hope the lesson OS taught you prepares you better for an acquisition of PA down the line, as this is likely where most people will go, or perhaps a certain other startup.

I don't remember them saying specifically that they weren't going to shut down OpenStudy, honestly. They gave the announcement 6 MONTHS ago, mentioning that they may combine the communities together, but nothing was set in stone

Ewww for the record PA is independently owned and rely on donations which there have been an increase in donors. I guarantee you that PA isn't going to fall into the sly hands of Booooooooooooly I meant brainly.
With that being said, 5ever you are by far the most scumbag moderator I have ever seen in my life. Thanks to you backstabbing OS and leaving OS to die, no one is going to take your offer and move to Brainly which is a hot mess and just a fancier version of yahoo answers. I actually learned a lot on OS during my university years even though I rarely log on these days. But if your brainly trash representatives come on PA, mods will ipban you straight out of there.
