It was not always dry land where we dwell. A. Metaphor B. Personification C. Simile or extended simile

OpenStudy (rz172):

I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear; nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put the rout all the was not life. Thoreau is saying that: A. it is sometimes good to practice resignation B. he wanted to discover the bare essence of life so he could live life to its fullest. C. the Spartans had a way of living that put to rout all the good things of life.

OpenStudy (mndean):

okay :) I think it's D. because it says he wanted "to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life."

OpenStudy (mndean):

lol sorry I meant B.

OpenStudy (rz172):

It is B. lol
