Probably my all time favorite OS era was the owl-making craze. It happened like 3 times, I think? It really brought the community together, and it brought out the creative side of OS. Most of the work made during that era can still be found at http://www.owlsofopenstudy.weebly.com/. Of course, it is sad to have seen a lot of the users involved vanish over the years, but they (and their work) will not be forgotten.
