as a hint, you generally would pick the simplest measurement so that your reported value is not too large and not too small. Distance between cities is not usually within short walking distance (m) thus you would use a larger unit, and miles seems fair for this case. It's much nicer to say the two cities are say, 5 miles apart than 8047 metres apart.
