Help please
Multiply out (x+5)(x+6) and then multiply the result by -1. Show your work, please. Use the so-called "foil" method to multiply these two binomials.
Well x^2
(-x-6)(x+5)

I was waiting until you tag me respecting who are helping you!
Oh okay well can you help me brother
Ok. But it is Salah Esha now I will go for praying and com back In Sha' Allah! 15-20 min Salam, sister!
@mathmale ?
Earlier I asked you to multiply out (x+6)(x+5). Again: Please perform this multiplication. Use the Distributive Property of Multiplication (or the so-called FOIL Method).
x^2 +11?
@mathmale
Looks as tho you added 5 and 6 to get 11. No. That's addition. This problem invovles multiplication. Multiply (x+5) by x, please. Then, multiply (x+5) by 5. Now add all the resulting terms together. This is an application of the Distributive Property of Multiplication.
X^2+25?
Hate to say this, but I think you're relying on guesswork instead of understanding. Please multiply out x(x+5). This product is not x^2+25. Try again. This is the Distributive Property of Mult. Look that up if you're unsure of what that's all about.
OKay look, X*X is X^2 and then if I multiply X*5 I get x
i get 5x*
x*x is indeed x^2. Now you're right. 5x is correct. Better. Next, multiply (x+6) by 5.
5x+30?
Yes. Now add together all four of the terms you've found; x^2, 5x, 6x, 30. What do you get?
X^2+11x+30
Yes. So much better. You were using the Distributive Property of Multiplication here. Now multiply all 3 of those terms by -1. Your result?
-x^2+-11x-30
Because all of the values become negative righT>
Omit that '+' sign.
Yes, all of the 3 terms become negative because of your multiplication of them by -1.
-x^2-11x-30
Great. That's it.
