OpenStudy (sophiesky):

I need some help with the steps to solve this. I'll attach a drawing of the right triangle below. Thank you!!! Let f=9, and d=13. Find angle E.

OpenStudy (sophiesky):

|dw:1480614703923:dw|

OpenStudy (sophiesky):

There we go, that is the triangle I've been given.

OpenStudy (avi13):

just apply a2=c2-b2

OpenStudy (sophiesky):

For side e I get e=9.38

OpenStudy (sophiesky):

But I'm looking for angle E

OpenStudy (avi13):

oh sorry apply cos(E)=9/13

OpenStudy (sophiesky):

So cos(E)=9/13... How would I do that...

OpenStudy (avi13):

cosine(theta)=9/13

OpenStudy (avi13):

use calculator and find cos inverse (9/13)

OpenStudy (sophiesky):

I got cos-1(9/13)=46.187

OpenStudy (avi13):

so thats E

OpenStudy (avi13):

just check whether it is in radian or degree

OpenStudy (sophiesky):

It's in degrees right now haha
