1. Explain the theme of belonging and relate it to the title of the novel. 2. What does The Outsiders demonstrate about the nature of appearances? 3. How is Ponyboy different from the other greasers? 4. What makes both Dallas and Johnny heroic?
2.Focus on Ponyboy's descriptions of the greasers vs their actions. He described Dally as this tough uncaring hood but he also risked his life to save Johnny. He acted uncaring but in the end Johnny's death was too much for him. They are supposed to be tough, but then there's Pony who is an anomaly. He likes sunsets and books (not like other JDs). Like the book says, the greasers feel too violently, despite the fact that they regularly get into fights and jump people. 3.he does not like to fight and he is much kinder than the rest of his gang. He becomes lost anfter his parents die and after ponyboy and Johnny kill a soc named bob.
