Hi, I’m Hanako. And I’m going to recap. the last four years of my OpenStudying adventures.

So I stumbled upon this site 4 years ago, needing some simple math help ( I laugh at how easy the questions were now LOL ) and I was not only helped, but also welcomed by a user who's name I forget...because they are now anonymous. But it was their kindness that kept me coming back for more and I will never regret that. I remember venturing on the chats for the first time, seeing @nincompoop, @ashleyisakitty, @Compassionate and others absolutely dominating the chat. I always thought you guys were mad cool and I still think you are! Then, I started to talking to old ambassadors like @JA1 and @loujoelou and @GoldPhenoix who were such great friends to me. it was these guys that inspired me to apply to become one myself. OML and @mary.rojas and @april115 were my best friends back in the day! Holy goodness we were inseparable back in the day! (I also remember snorting out mango juice when I read Mary’s testimonial haha. I also remember the day I was accepted into the ambassador program, with @luigi0210 , @jigglypuff314 , @pooja192 , @goformit100 (LOL) and others. We were so graciously welcomed by BostonBlue and I remember that being one of the happiest days of my life. At around that time, @luigi0210 told me that he’d wait for me to get green when I was still olive but ofc he left me in the dust /cries. But that’s okay, he’s my bodyguard now (; Then I recall my friends in general. @Charlotte123 and her charbars LOL and those tc sessions! Also, @bulletwithbutterflywings, @happinessbreaksbones, @Tester97 , @Taylor<3’sRin , Soph, and of course Mary and April were hilarious girls who I made such nice memories with. @E.cociuba was someone who I could always vent to about all the OS drama I was dealing with at the time, what a babe <3 Also, as a side note, @ash2326 was my OS dad hahaha such good times! Now we go to the same university (except he’s a grad student and I’m a little ol’ undergraduate). Also, 3 years ago, before @e.mccormick was a mod, I messaged him about his super cool profile pic. and asked him if he really was dyslexic. And he said that he was, and that was really cool to me. Chatting it up with @mathslover in the mornings was also super fun. I miss you coming online. And lastly, @AustinL ’s post back in the day titled “Chicken Soup for the OpenStudier’s soul” really, really slayed me. The inspiration was real. (I’m still really upset that it belongs to anonymous now :( )

So this thus concluded the first year of my OpenStudying ventures. And then I took a loooong break (honestly, I feel like I’m NOTORIOUS for taking these and I apologize for that…literally everytime I came back, it was like a Rip Van Winkle thing…I had to get SOMEONE to recap everything

So after first great hiatus, I came back and a BUNCH of users that I’d never seen in my lifetime were suddenly around. And to be honest, it scared me. I felt out of place, no longer knowledgeable about OpenStudy’s user base. But I saw a message pop up, and saw that @TheSmartOne had messaged me, saying that he’d heard about me. and I was like, “you have? O_O” But then he recapped me on everything that happened while I was away. Feeling comfortable, I ventured back to the chats, and met @sleepyjess. Okay. Okay. Okay. Where to start. . . this girl practically welcomed me immediately. Super nice and literally embraced me so hard that my virtual self probably exploded. But point is, this girl was, and IS still my RBUK FOR LIFE and we must keep in contact!!! I will never forget the snapchat video sessions, haha. Then, I also met @sammixboo who I thought was 3 cool 5 me and we never got to finish our 99 problems…find me and finish them with me before OS is over, yeah? Chibiterasu (or @Unanimoose) was a super funny guy who always cracked me up to be honest. and @CausticSyndicalist, or casuuu-chan, was the coolest Paw Patrol-obsessed person I’ve ever met. I hope he’s doing well. Then. I met users like @Whitemonsterbunny17 (who @e.mccormick actually introduced me to, at the time) and @beccaboo333 (who @e.mccormick also introduced me to LOL). You guys are super cool (especially you, bunny. I feel the need to stay in contact with you even after OS ends). Then, I stumbled upon the history section and saw some new and very cute 98ss user answering a question. I gave her a medal and her score jumped to 99! I was like WOAH W0T and this was, ladies and gentleman @EclipsedStar . So since then, she became my kohai and is no longer new to me, but still exceedingly cute. Finally, shout out to @Abb0t who is actually gr8 at chemistry and hilarious, and also @nincompoop who helped me with calculus and I was very grateful. And finally, before this period of time was over, I hit 90ss, 99ss, and became a moderator :) and @e.mccormick congratulated me for a big music scholarship, what a sweetheart. Very bittersweet when I found out that he would no longer be on OpenStudy, I will forever miss our conversations and his candid posts detailing all his cool hobbies and interests. Also, shout-out to @jagr2713 for helping me manage the OS snapchat.

So this concluded the second major segment of my OpenStudying ventures. Another very, very fun time. Now, with the last session.

This is the most recent session. I came back, and @Ilovepuppieslol was the one to bring me back into the loop, explaining what the whole dealio was with me having less than 300 fans. This time is memorable to me because I finally got closer to the following users: @jaynator495 , @yanasidilinsky , @jabez177 (Stephanie (; ) @marcelie , @inkyvoyd ( okay, not close, but I can finally talk to you LOL), @tHe_FiZiCx99 , @Elsa213 , @Austin.L , and others. Thank you guys so much for creating all these recent memories with me. Also, I invited my lovely roommate, @brittanyrolfe , to join the OpenStudy community. She loved it so much that she was nearly as upset as I was when I found out that it was shutting down. Thanks for making this short experience that she’s had a great one, you guys. I really appreciate it.

I went inactive for an year, and I had just another account more than an year before (which I decided to abandon and create a new one, this one)
But sad thing is the friends I had back then I don't remember, or else they don't remember me...

Similar to what Hanako said, I have had a great time here on OS! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone involved in making my experience great! ESPECIALLY MY AMAZING ROOMMATE! Thank you so much Hanako! I love living with you and studying bio with you! You have not only made my OS experience unique and fun, but also slay me with "dat boys" and dealing with my weirdness! I love you tons! Thank you for introducing me to all of your friends and letting me in! ;,,)

I have never thanked anyone enough more than I could thank you Jamie. I really do wish that I've met you earlier because of what you did for me. I'm not even sure why or how we got to know each other but all I remember that the memories will always remain and especially the trail you've made across my heart. Gurl, you're the best. You've been crazy and unique unlike others. I'd hate to not talk to you anymore because I feel like you were someone that helped me alot and have done an influence on my life. A little before you tho...
I remember meeting @jabez1777 at night something talking about a flight at night I think he was at the airport or something idek LOL But those nights were fun and then we got into deep conversations that he has helped me through and he's done a good job. And I admire him and respect him for the things he's done.. Even though he's done something terrible, I just still wanna stay in contact with him just because of his amazing personality. Jabez sorry for going crazy at you but I didn't know things were going to turn out that way and you know exactly what I'm talking about.
A little after that...
I remember being a ridiculous flirt in that chats and Jamie LOL came in and it was like 'the 3 musketeers' Hilarious I know.. Weird I know Funny I know but at the same time were like super best friends and I cherished those moments...

I'll miss you both so much and I just don't know what to say. My heart just shatters into pieces of glass wanting and longing for someone to find a way to put me together. These tears are like drops of the rain that never end with these sleepless nights knowing I'll miss you both soo much<3333 Iloveyou all and I just really can't explain how deeply and passionately I'll miss you both.
