There were really, I should think, two or three hundred people elbowing and jostling one another, the one or two ladies there being by no means the least active. That could be the answer because it seems the most.....realistic but what an author right could be about aliens even tho this is a passage from The War of the Worlds. My point is is that you cant pick the one that seems the most correct unless you know the story and the way the author speaks or reacts to certain parts in a story
