geometry lateral and surface area question
Could I help you?
so i just plug in the numbers then?
isn't it a lot different from a triangular prism though??
This depends on the basis of your prism, as the lateral area is the total surface area except the areas of the two basis of the prism.
Not so different: - the surface area is the sum of areas of all faces (5 faces in case of triangular prism). - the lateral area is the surface area except the areas of the two basis of the prism (3 rectangular faces in our case here).
@PokieDokie Do you follow?
oh okay so how would i set up that equation, or is it jst the same as a regular prism.. sorry if im being confusing
i'm really bad at math in general ://
No no Not at all! Don't say that, please, "sorry if im being confusing" , "i'm really bad at math"
sorry its a habit lmao
anyway, so what numbers would i plug in?
would it be 10.82*26?
oh wait nevermind, that's for volume i think, whoops
|dw:1480719579489:dw| - The lateral area = sum of the (yellow+pink+green outlined) area - The surface area = the lateral area + the areas of orange triangles I think it is clear now! +I hope that helps!
oh okay!! i understand a little better now
I am happy to hear that. I think you got it!
also i found out the answer was B and I got it right, thank you so much!
Don't mention it! I am so glad that I have helped you!
Any more questions?
nope, i'm good for now, thank you!
