For a boat traveling at a constant velocity it can be shown that the number of gallons per hour used by the boat is directly proportional to V^2. If the boat is traveling upstream at a constant velocity V, in a river that is flowing 20 mph, and is going to travel 100 miles, find the velocity that minimized fuel consumption. Please help!
