in addition and subtraction, the identity is 0, but in multiplication and division, the identity is 1 this means that it add/subtract 0 to any number, it stays the same. or if you divide/multiply any number by 1, it stays the same in the equation, you divide -53 by one, and it stays the same, so this the IDENTITY PROPERTY OF DIVISION at work
